About Lisa Flam 

​Lisa Flam is a veteran journalist who has worked with major media companies including The Associated Press, NBC’s Today.com, CNBC.com and many more in a distinguished career spanning more than 20 years.   

 

Lisa was a national news editor for The Associated Press, publishing the top U.S. stories of the day with expert skill under constant deadline pressure. She helped alert the world to major stories like the Olympic Park bombing in Atlanta and the Virginia Tech massacre and worked on every major national story of the time.  ​

 

From the national desk, Lisa went out on her own, writing feature stories for national media outlets in a wide-ranging coverage area including health, parenting, style and education. Her work has been published by The New York Times and other notable print and digital publications.

 

Today, Lisa is a New York-based independent writer, editor, strategic communications storyteller and content expert who works with media organizations, agencies, companies, hospitals, schools and nonprofits. She excels in telling detail-rich human interest stories, writing about complex topics in an easy-to-understand way, and using the right tone of voice for each audience. 

 

An award-winning writer, she is the in-house journalist for a high-performing public school district in New York’s Westchester County and a college essay editor for high school students nationwide.  

 

With decades of storytelling experience, Lisa offers exceptional guidance to elevate all types of writing and editing projects. Whether writing a feature story, planning a newsletter, updating a corporate website or editing an essay, she brings the same exacting attention to detail, consistently creating work that is engaging, insightful and polished.
